Session Description

Since 2020, there has been an explosion of interest from corporations, government agencies, not-for-profits, unions, and other organizations to hire or retain the services of Black professionals from diverse backgrounds. In the midst of the surge, some high-profile issues have come up for Black professionals who have taken up the calls for service, either as employees or as external consultants.

In 2024, being a Black woman and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ non-binary consultant operating a business, start-up, or freelancer specializing in equity, diversity and inclusion/anti-racism and anti-oppression can be incredibly rewarding. It also comes with its unique challenges, barriers, and unknown opportunities.

For the above reasons, Tomee Sojourner Consulting Inc. has designed this 45-minute session.

Competencies:  Communication, Professionalism, Health & Safety, Critical Thinking, Decision Making, Intentional Allyship, Building Communities of Support, Intersectionality, Accountability

Target Audience: This session is currently being offered to Black women and Black 2SLGBTQIA + non-binary professionals specializing in EDI/ARAO working as:
